Design and Technology
(Lower Secondary)
Students are usually introduced to Design & Technology at lower secondary level. Our exciting programmes that feature design to fabrication, gives students a good overview of what to expect when they take on the subject at upper secondary level.
SPINFactory is a design to fabrication programme where students will learn design skills, basic 3D CAD skills and technology in fabrication. Through this 8 hour programme, each student will design and fabricate their very own yoyo that they can take home. Each student will receive their very own license of SolidWorks to practice.
Design Communication with SolidWorks is an 8 hour programme that introduce students to various design communication skills such as orthographic drawings, exploded drawings and contextual rendering with tools in SolidWorks design software.
Problem Based Learning with SolidWorks is a half-day programme that guides students through a PBL approach in solving a fictitious design problem. Students will have a chance to apply what they have learnt in physics and mathematics in the design of structures. Students will be using design validation tools in SolidWorks to study structural behaviors of their designs.
